Years of training. Months of planning. Days of waiting. Once the target is located, it only takes a second of action to complete the mission. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 places players back behind the scope as a sniper on a mission. The developers have been hard at work on creating a truly engaging experience. GamerHub.TV was invited to be a part of a private roundtable discussion with producer Michael Sroczynski from City Interactive about the game. Over the next week we will be counting down to the release of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 on March 12. Today we will be discussing the improvements the development team has made to the game.
Are ready to step behind the scope again?
The biggest improvement to Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 by far is the game engine that should be familiar to anyone that has played Crysis 3. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 was built using Cry Engine 3. The team at City Interactive worked closely with the team over at Crytek to develop the game. This cooperation allowed the developers of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 to improve upon the gameplay and the AI within the game.
The gameplay has been improved significantly in the latest installment to the Sniper: Ghost Warrior series. The developers focused on stealth gameplay and sniping to create a more authentic and thrilling experience. The sniper mechanics have been have been refined and the player must take into consideration all the factors that go into taking one single shot. From the type of bullet used to the direction of the wind, players will have to think like a true sniper. The improvements in gameplay are not only in the game, but City Interactive seeks to change the way you play shooters. In order to pull off a smooth and precise shot, players must control how hard they press the trigger on the controller. Players must remain calm during the tense moments of gameplay, driving home the sniper experience.
Stealth and cover are a huge part of combat.
The use of the Crytek 3 engine has also allowed the A.I. in Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 to become a more responsive and deadly adversary. The A.I. in the game will move cover to cover during combat and even respond to the discovery of dead bodies by taking cover and seeking out the player to eliminate him. City Interactive has also focused on how the sniper will approach taking out their enemies. Enemies will respond differently to how and where you shoot them. While the goal may be finding that one perfect shot, finding cover is the priority. Staying hidden is important in Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2. As you increase the difficulty in the game, the A.I. will begin to search for and seek out the sniper.
Observing your target is important in order to gain the advantage.
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is shaping up to be an impressive shooter. From the use of Cry Engine 3 to the cooperation from Crytek, City Interactive has clearly learned from the last game and has a focused outlook on how to make the sequel better. From refined sniper mechanics to realistic A.I., Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 clearly has success in its sights. Stay tuned to GamerHub.TV for more details including story and announced DLC in the coming days until the release of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 on March 12.
